Books Books Books

It is no secret that I love books! I love the search for a new book. Whether it is in a bookstore, or on the internet, I am always looking for a new book. My problem is I find so many books I want to read, but I do not have enough time to read all the books...
I have a few favorite book websites.

  • PaperBackSwap.com-you post your books (the first 10 books gets you 2 credits), and then swap books with other members. Swapping is free, you just pay shipping when someone requests a book from you. You get a credit for each book you share with someone! There is nothing better than free books!
  • Goodreads.com-track what books you have read, want to read, are reading. Search for other books. Play book trivia.
  •  Amazon Kindle Store-I have the Kindle App on my phone. I like to find free books...classics to read on my phone.  It is great to be able to read anywhere.  I guess I do carry a book around with me, but it is less obvious I am reading on my phone.

Thankful Thursday-Pictures

I am thankful for pictures and Digital Cameras. I love taking pictures, and having the memories to look back on. Here are some of my favorite memories (that I have on my computer...)

My computer crashed during this post...here is what was saved!

Wishful Wednesday

Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... my life was a movie,
and I would want it to be
a comedy!

Like America's Funniest Home Video, the movie version! There is always something stupidly funny going on...see yesterday's post about my foot cramp. And Parker is quite the funny man.

Parkerisms

Me: Parker do you want Santa to come visit our house?
Parker: no, he's scary
Me: He's not scary, he is very nice. He bring presents. Do you want Santa to bring you presents?
P: (said to Morgan) Daddy Santa bring you presents!!
Morgan: what do you want Santa to bring you?
P: Presents!!!!!
M: what kind of presents?
P: blue
M: blue?
P: and pink, and red and brown.

I had a really bad foot cramp and Parker was in the bathroom with me, Morgan was watching TV ( really loudly) in the other room.

Me: oh my toe, oh my foot hurts. Parker go get daddy, tell him my toe hurts
P: (running through house) daddy, mommy's tote (combo of foot and toe) hurts
Morgan: her throat hurts? Well give her a kiss
P: (comes back to me, gives me a kiss) mommy you better?
Me: no, tell daddy I need him
P: (runs back to daddy) mommy needs you, she's hurt
M: she's hurt? Hmmmm
P: (comes back to me) you ok?
Me: MORGAN
M: (comes to bathroom) oh you did need me? Parker you did such a good job.

Weekend Update

We had a super fun weekend. I did not study until today...yikes

Friday: We ate dinner with Nana and Papa (Morgan's parents), then went to the TU basketball game. TU won (but Parker and I left before the end of the game)

Saturday: Cleaning day...ish. Morgan worked for a few hours, so Parker and I ran errands. We went to Lowe's to get a new air filter, and then to Michael's to look around. We found some fun Christmas crafts and stickers. We Morgan came home we went out to lunch, and back to Lowe's to return the air filter I bought...it was the wrong size. We then went looking for a Uniqua we can never find the Backyardigan we want, it took 2 stores. Parker fell asleep on the way home, so Morgan and I cleaned some more. We put the Christmas Tree together! We had dinner plans, so Parker got to go hang out with Nana and Papa some more. We went to the Summit Club with Morgan's Business Partner and their lawyer. It was really yummy, and a lot of fun. Then we went to Tiny's Lounge...ever been there? It was pretty cute, but I was TIRED!

Sunday: We went to church, the lunch, then napped. I studied a little, and made some chili for dinner. Parker played (after his super long nap). And I decorated the Tree...it is pretty early I know, I have just been really excited to decorate for Christmas!

It is time to get back to studying. Hope everyone has a great week!

Activism and Humbleism

Oh How I Love making up words. Humbleism...is sounds so nice.

Maria is having a contest...

What am I passionate about? I am pretty passionate about trying to breastfeed and not giving up because it is not super easy at first. I am passionate about proper dosing and administration of medication. I am passionate about eating right (ish) and being active, especially kids. I am passionate about getting your yearly girly appointment. I am passionate about some random topics.

How do I stay humble about the things I am passionate about? I think it depends on who I am talking to and where I am. When it comes to the medication well that one is a no brainer at the pharmacy. It is my job to teach patients and medical professionals what is appropriate. I will tell someone that what they plan on doing is WRONG, if it could hurt them or their children. Some of the other topics are harder for me to really spread the word, while I can be argumentative there are times I like to just sit back and not say anything. I sometimes even agree with things I don't agree with. There are people who I just don't care to try and change. Does this make me a bad person...I don't know.

I'm not sure I really wrote about what Maria wanted, but there it is.

Thankful Thursday-Books

Ahh it is Thursday, and I'm getting my post up! I am thankful for books. I love being able to escape to another place, or time and go on an adventure. Reading is very relaxing for me, I read most nights before going to bed. I like to carry a book in my purse, you never know when you might get a few minutes to read (and escape!) I love reading books to Parker. He likes it too, he likes to tell me what is happening on the page.

I am also thankful for the library as it provides us with lots of books!! I recently rediscovered my love of the library. Parker and I go together, he gets to play with puzzles, looks at books and picks few out to take home. I have been getting my audiobooks there.
